Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 4, 2026
EnDiary ("the App", "we", "us") is developed and operated by ThinksView. This Privacy Policy explains what information we process when you use EnDiary, how we process it, and the choices you have. Our core principle is simple: your diary is yours β writing locally never requires an account, and we do not keep a long-term copy of your diary entries.
1. What we collect and where it's stored
| Data | Where it's stored | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Diary entries | Your device's local database + your private iCloud database | Writing and local display; never sent to or retained long-term on our servers by default |
| Correction results and error-type tags | Your device + our server | Displaying corrections and generating long-term error trend statistics |
| Anonymous device identity (a random ID containing no personal information) | Our server + your iCloud Keychain | Identifying cloud quota, subscription entitlements, and backup ownership β not your real identity |
| Encrypted cloud backup (optional) | Our object storage (ciphertext only) | Restoring your data on a new device; the encryption key lives only on your device and in your iCloud Keychain |
| Usage metadata (task type, token counts, request time, error codes) | Our server | Quota management, troubleshooting, service improvement; never includes diary content |
| Subscription and payment information | Apple App Store (we never see it) | Subscriptions are processed by Apple; we only receive subscription status, never your payment card details |
2. How AI processes your diary content
EnDiary's AI features (topic suggestions, writing assistance, corrections, weekly reports) work in two tiers:
- On-device first: on devices that support Apple Intelligence, lightweight features like topic generation and writing suggestions run on-device by default β content never leaves your device.
- Cloud processing: when on-device processing isn't available, or for features that need a more capable model (like full corrections), the diary text you submit for that request is forwarded through our Cloudflare Workersβbased service to a third-party AI provider, DeepSeek, for processing.
3. How we use information
- Providing core features: topic suggestions, writing assistance, corrections, progress statistics, encrypted backup
- Calculating and enforcing subscription quotas, and preventing abuse
- Troubleshooting and improving service quality (only through logs and usage metadata that never include diary content)
4. Information sharing
- We never sell your personal information.
- We only send your diary content to our AI provider (DeepSeek) when you actively use a cloud AI feature, and only for that one request.
- Encrypted backups use a third-party object storage service; the provider only ever sees encrypted ciphertext and cannot read the content.
- We may disclose information where required by law or to protect our legitimate rights.
5. Data storage and security
- Diary entries are stored only on your device and in your private iCloud database by default, protected by Apple's iCloud encryption.
- If you enable encrypted cloud backup, content is encrypted on your device with a key only you hold, before it's uploaded; our servers only ever store ciphertext.
- Our server logs never record diary content β only request IDs, task types, token usage, and error codes.
6. Your rights and choices
- You can delete all data associated with your device from our servers at any time, in one tap, from Me β Cloud Data β Delete Cloud Data (statistics, correction results, encrypted backups, subscription linkage). Entries on your device are never affected.
- You can export all of your diary entries at any time from Me β Export All Entries (Markdown format).
- Because we don't collect a name, email address, or phone number for registration, EnDiary has no traditional "account" β deleting your cloud data is equivalent to closing an account.
7. Children's privacy
EnDiary is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the details below so we can address it promptly.
8. International data transfers
The cloud computing and AI service providers we use may route processing requests to servers outside your region. We require our partners to handle your information in a manner consistent with this Policy.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted in the App or on this page β please check the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continuing to use EnDiary after an update means you accept the revised policy.
